Honolulu Zoo, Master Plan

San Francisco, California

The Alaskan Coast Exhibit provides a 750,000 gallon habitat for beluga whales and harbor seals and is the pivotal entry exhibit within this overall $50 million aquarium redevelopment project. It replicates a geologic transect of the Alaskan Cook Inlet with its precipitous coastline, cobble beach and rocky shore tidal areas. It was developed in conjunction with Lyons/zaremba, Rhodes/Dahl & Cesar Pelli Architect.
